Legionnaires Disease
Legionnaires Disease is caused by Legionella
bacteria (principally Legionella pneumophilla), an organism
which can live and multiply in hot and cold water systems and cooling
systems. In order to minimise the risk of the bacteria spreading,
a rigorous maintenance regime is essential, together with water
treatment and regular monitoring and sampling.
We have many years experience in the field of Legionella Auditing and can advise on all aspects of the problem, from the design
of water systems, through regular monitoring to remedial work, All
sample analysis is conducted in our own independent laboratories.
As experts in both microbiology and building service design, our
consultants are able to compile risk assessments in line with current
recommendations and legislation.
Specifically, our services in this area include:
- site inspection and sampling
- independent routine monitoring of water quality
- auditing and risk assessments in accordance with L8 of the ACoP (?)
- assessing the efficiency of water treatment systems
